Melissa Smith

Operations & Finance

Melissa joined AAG in February 2008 as the General Manager and Programmer/Data Analyst. She became the Vice President of Operations & Finance in April 2013. Melissa has also served on the Board of Directors for the Virginia AeroSpace Business Association (VASBA) since it was formed in 2013. Melissa earned her B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science from Christopher Newport University in 1987. She worked as a computer programmer for Lockheed Engineering & Sciences Company for over 15 years. During this time she worked with the Dynamic Systems and Control Branch at NASA Langley providing programming and web development support for various projects including the F-18 High Angle of Attack Research Vehicle program and the High Speed Research program. Outside of work, Melissa and her husband enjoy spending time with their adult children, hiking, boating, traveling, and relaxing at wineries and breweries.
